Don’t Overlook This Easy Way to Personalize Your Wedding

Signature Cocktails + Five Classics You Can’t Go Wrong With

After you’ve said your, “I do’s,” you and your guests will be ready to clink glasses and cheers to getting the party started. You’ve probably thought through your basic bar package, but have you thought about incorporating signature cocktails into your wedding? Now, signature cocktails are totally not required for weddings, but they offer a unique way to personalize some of the details of your big day. Whether you two have a go-to drink you love, sipped on margaritas during a first date, or even want mocktails that you can match to your color scheme, there are so many ways to incorporate signature drinks into your wedding. Before I share a few classic cocktails to consider, I want to share how one of my modern couples approached their cocktail selections.

At the end of 2022, I caught up with my sweet couple, April and Cameron during a cocktail tasting to decide whether they wanted to offer signature cocktails to their wedding guests. I had the privilege of meeting their families and learning about what they are most excited about for the wedding celebration. Across the board, the family ranked “good food experiences for guests” as a high priority, so we approached the tasting with the goal of finding a few possible cocktail options that would pair well with their Asian-centered menu.

BTW, if you’re wondering what they’re having, their menu offerings include a mix of stir fry noodles, fried rice, and sushi. I know, I’m drooling too!

After trying a total of 7 cocktails (don’t worry - they were tiny!) of varying alcohols, colors, and flavors, April and Cameron and their families narrowed down to a few options that would complement their dinner entrees – SUCCESS!

If you’re not big drinkers, like April or Cameron, or are unsure of what types of cocktails you should offer, here are a few classics that could be easy crowd pleasers among your guests. Before you jump in and select your choices, I would highly recommend visiting a restaurant or bar to try these! They are pretty common, so you can expect many places to provide them.
